Procrastinating

It seems I have fallen asleep at the wheel of life lately. I realize it has been almost a year since I graduated massage therapy school and still I have yet to retake my mBlex test. Where did my passion and fire for this go? I am planning to retake it again in February hopefully that isn't putting it off to much longer. That way its after the holiday seasons and a birthday present to myself! Time has just gotten away from me lately it feels like I can't get anything done in a timely manner. I need to just start staying up till 10pm every night studying with my practice tests.

Do you have any tips for studying?

Also I forgot to post my Thanksgiving post and lost it, but how was everyones Thanksgiving feasts with family? We had a really nice one at Eddie's Aunts house and then my grandmothers house!

I'm so thankful for my little family~! <3

Once again I apologize for dropping the ball and not posting my Thanksgiving post. Now its almost Christmas and I am wrapping some presents. Maybe this is why I'm not a big time mommy blogger. ;) Though I do love blogging, so even if its here and there. I will still stick to it! I promise the next post will be sooner than the new year!

Changes

The weather in Kansas is changing fast!! It was warm and cool, but now it's freezing! We simply skipped over fall and went straight to winter! Which is fine since everyone seems to be skipping Thanksgiving and going straight to Christmas anyways. -sigh-

I decided to color my hair for fall and make it a pretty red. I like how it turned out. I figured everyone else was spicing things up changing their color, so why not me! Check it out!

My sister Jessica wanted to do it for me, but I'm impatient and couldn't wait! So I did it with the help of my grandmother. Who has gone along with every crazy color in the rainbow I've dreamt up to put in my hair! I like to think I keep her young! :)

Moments like this remind me why I work three jobs seven days a week!!

What are your favorite moments lately?

Pumpkin Patch Time!

We took Julian to the pumpkin patch for the first time ever this year. Here are a few pictures from our adventure.

Have you gone to the pumpkin patch yet with your little one?

Disconnected

Once again our family has lost another member. My great grandmother (Mary) passed away a week ago and I took off work all last week for the funeral. My great grandmother was 90yrs old and I would like to think she lived a fulfilling life. I am thankful she got to meet Julian and that she was in my life. She taught me how to crochet, ride a tractor, make peanut brittle, not be a city girl, have faith, be strong and never give up! I love and miss you Granny!

I also had MommyCon this weekend. Which in all my excitement for the actual event. I forgot to charge my phone and got no pictures of Julian an I in costume. I also realized I am the least assertive person ever when it comes to trying to talk to my blogger role models!!! Completely meant to fan girl my way to talk to Jamie the baby gear guy... I didn't. I think just getting to be in the room made me content. That or I was just so tired and worn out from the week. I did get these pictures though.

I am so happy I got to go! I am even more blessed to have met some moms who are local and really sweet. I foresee future baby play dates!! Hopefully!

What did you do this weekend?

Halloween crafting!

It's no secret I love the video game Zelda in all formats. I buy all video gaming consoles for the sole purpose of playing the new zelda games they come out with. So it should come as no surprise I am making Julian's Halloween costume to be Link and I am going to be Zelda! I am not done crafting everything and getting things together but here are some pictures of Julian's costume in the making!

This is one of the many reasons I love being a mom! Also Halloween is my favorite holiday! :)

What are you and your kids being for Halloween?

I must be crazy!

That or I have a death wish! I may possibly be getting a fourth job! Sounds crazy, I know. For those of you who weren't aware I did in home behavioral therapy with a little boy, before I had Julian. I just rejoined the therapy team this past month and I am helping a lady clean her house every week.
I'd like a more reliable car and it won't happen with the one job. The fourth job is possibly a personal assistant position. Hopefully, I can juggle all this and not loose my mind.

We make a lot of sacrifices as parents. I really have no social life besides talking to my co-workers at work. It's a sacrifice I'm okay with making. :)

What sacrifices do you feel like you've been making lately?

I am sorry

This last week I lost my grandmother Vicki and did not find out till Sunday she had passed. I know she is in a better place and I am happy knowing that. Unfortunately, I am left with a sense of anger towards myself for not visiting her more often. I didn't realize until this elderly gentleman fell in front of the coffee shop yesterday, how much it upset me she passed away. I called the ambulance as he stayed laying on the ground. It seriously scared the hell out of me and made me think about my grandparents. My grandfather also was in the hospital last week because of irregular heart rhythms. He is doing okay now, but had they not caught it in time. He might have suffered a heart attack or blood clot.

Moments in life are scary sometimes and I am a very emotional person. Which is funny since I hate crying!

Anyways, I didn't mean to be such a debbie downer today in my post, but I had to get it out. On the brighter side of life. I am scheduling to retake my mBlex test which will make me a LMT! The only problem it costs $195 to take the test, so I am hoping I do not fail it again. I like to think things happen at the time they do for a reason. Hopefully waiting will be worth it.

This little baby bear makes coming home from work and life worth it! So glad I have tomorrow off.

How does your family handle loss?

9/11

I remember exactly where I was on the day the twin towers got hit. I was in the backseat of my mothers 'toy truck', as we called it, on our way to school. Once we got to school we watched the news coverage in every class that day. Everyone around the world was in shock and I can't blame them. Now that I am older and a mother I understand how devastating the events from that day truly were and still are today. I didn't know anyone involved in the terrible tragedy and I can't even imagine what it was like. My deepest condolences are alway with the families who lost loved ones.

These pictures are pictures I took back in 2006-2007 my senior year of high school. They had just started the construction of the memorial site, that the towers once stood on. I have not seen or been to the finished site, but I've seen pictures. It's beautiful and a great way to remember those lost.

Labor Day Weekend

Our Labor Day weekend was a blast! Three day vacation. Yes please! Sign me up more often! We went over to Eddie's grandparents and cooked out! Along with we went fishing! We baited the poles with grasshoppers instead of worms. We lost the first grasshopper, but successfully caught two fish. We threw them back don't worry!

We also went to Eddie's Aunt Julie's house Labor Day and had Chinese food! I could go on for day about my undying love for curry! Which someone made a shrimp and tofu curry. I was in heaven!

We also played my all time favorite board game Sequence! :)

What did your family do for Labor Day weekend!? Any plans for this weekend?

Julian's first hair cut

Julian got his first haircut yesterday and it just hit me. I was not ready for it and officially no longer have a baby baby. I have a toddler who looks like he is 2!!! I realized it tonight when I put him in his crib for bed. How much I wasn't emotionally ready for this step. I know it will grow back, but I miss his crazy baby hair. :(

It does make me want to sing the fuzzy wuzzy was a bear song though. :) Both boys have a buzz cut going on now. It's cute that they match.

Were you ready for you child's/ children's first haircuts?

Back to School

Summer is officially over. I say that with a heavy heart. Eddie starts back to school, teaching, tomorrow. I enjoyed getting to have lazy afternoons with both my boys, but it will be good for us to get back into a productive mode.

I can not wait for Fall weather and October to get here!! MommyConKC is going to be a blast! I am meeting a few mommy friends for the first time there and hopefully making some new ones! Will you be attending with your little ones?

Julian always likes to play with my diaper bag stash of MommyCon flyers. Silly baby bear!

T.G.I.F!!

I work doubles on Friday nights, so by the end of the night I am done! Kansas is hosting an Electric run here tonight and I may go to that after work. Wish me luck if I do!

I've also entered into a #FreixenetFriday photo contest. I was going for a girls night out since those for me are few and far between. I am trying to win the grand prize, so I can post better quality pictures on the blog. I'd greatly appreciate any an all votes. If you have a moment please vote and share! http://bit.ly/16MRZPd This link should send you straight to my entry. If it goes back to your Facebook homepage it's because you are outside the USA or under 21. I am in the lead so far, but it ends in a month.

What does your family do on Friday night? I'd love to know!
